Jammy & sweet with a citrus finish

Much of Kenya's coffee is sold via auction, but our import partners have developed some direct relationships with co-op washing stations ( Factories), making special coffees, like this one, fully traceable.

Barikongo is one of 13 factories in the Komothai Farmers' Cooperative Society (FCS) , spread across Kiambu County. These cherries are sorted, pulped, fermented overnight, then washed and graded. then dried for 8-14 days on drying tables. Unlike most other FCS, Komothai does not soak the parchment a second time after washing, adding to the uniqueness of this coffee.

The Komothai FCS is focusing on empowering younger members, with most factory managers being 25-35 years old.
