Fremont Seattle Caffe Ladro invites visitors to come in for coffee with friends, family, and colleagues. With rotating art exhibits, large windows, and outdoor Adirondack chairs, you will find a spot to relax. First, order your coffee from a friendly barista. Then enjoy it in the charismatic setting of the café, or take it to go on a conveniently short walk to the statue of Lenin and the Center of the Universe Signs. Later, explore the neighborhood to find the Troll, the Fremont Market, or take the Theo Chocolate factory tour.
Fremont Manager, Scout, shares her perspectives on the neighborhood and a favorite cafe regular.
Fremont is a neighborhood with a lot happening: we serve people who live right next door, people who work next door, people who are passing through on buses, people who are going to the Sunday Market or other fun events at a few of the popular bars and venues in nearby. Despite this great mix, there are so many familiar faces and a strong feeling of community. One of my favorite things is making a drink for someone and then encountering them out and about in Fremont later in the day when I’m not working. There is a strong sense of community amongst service workers too because there are so many restaurants, bars, and a few other cafes in the area.
We have so many favorite regulars at Fremont. Our favorite regular, Derryl, comes in with a smile on his face every morning and tells us that seeing our smiling faces starts his morning off right. Derryl is a customer who is so invested in the Fremont community; he buys drinks for folks (Firefighters and local small business owners), and teaches Tai Chi a few nights a week in the Fremont neighborhood. Derryl really cares about how every barista is doing and brings so much sunshine and positive energy into our café.
